Spring awakening in Eisacktal

Blooming culture in spring. The phenomenon of apple blossom is something you can have not only in Eisacktal but also in Meran and surroundings or in Vinschgau . But special in Eisacktal is that with the awakening of nature also the culture awakes.

The local tourism boards speak about culture awakening, because besides the apple blossom in the area of Natz-Schabs, the villages and cities awake in a new, colourful splendor, too. Spring walks get a new dimension after the monotonous winter: culture and arts now become interesting.

For example it’s worthwhile visiting the 3 medieval cities in Eisacktal: the picturesque Sterzing with the beautiful shopping street, the culture- and congress city of Brixen with the baroque dome and the ancient city of Klausen, where the artist Albrecht Dürer once spend his holidays.

Beside of the awakening cities also a lot of museums open their doors in spring, for instance the mine-museum at Ridnaun, the minerals-museum in Teis in Villnöss Valley or the pharmacy museum in Brixen.

Spring in Eisacktal

In the mornings and evenings still fresh, at noontime already tepid and sunny. This is the climate during springtime in the Eisacktal, which invites you to long and extensive walks. Even crocuses and little animals take this bait and come again out of their winter-caves.

And skiing on the Plose becomes a very warm pleasure during springtime and gives your face a very nice suntan. And don’t feel unsporty, if you change your skies for a canvas chair in these sunny and warm days! The nature wakes up again, first little flowers break through the earth, the farmers go out into their meadows again to prepare for the magic apple blossom, which fill the valley with a wonderful and very seductive flavour.
