The Eisacktal is often ignored. The Brenner motorway leads through the valley and many people don’t leave the motorway to explore the romantic villages and towns there – although it would be rewarding.

Sterzing, Brixen and Klausen are the three medieval cities with worth seeing old towns and churches and the villages Feldthurns, Villanders or Barbian attract because of their charm and the hospitality of their inhabitants.

The most important season in Eisacktal probably is the autumn. Because in September there takes place the grape and chestnut harvest and therefore, it starts also the popular harvest tradition of “Törggelen”.
