Biathlon World Cup Antholz
The valley Antholz in the northeast of South Tyrol is a quiet and tranquil place, watched by the mighty Mt. Hochgall. In summer, cows and sheep browse on the alpine meadows and walkers and hikers stroll around the wonderful lake at the end of the valley.
From late autumn to springtime, Antholz is covered under a thick blanket of snow and it is a meeting point for winter hikers, lugers and cross-country skiers. And if the temperatures are low enough, you cannot only walk around lake Antholz, but also directly on it.
But once a year the placid valley turns into the Mecca of biathlon sports. Then, the best biathletes of the world give proof of their ability and the probably most persevering biathlon fans celebrate the biggest party of the year. Since many years the biathlon world cups in Antholz are more than just any sport events. Those, who have witnessed it once, know it – and come back.
Normally the advance sale of the tickets starts already in the summer of the previous year. This is necessary, because the biathlon in Antholz has about 14,000 visitors per day.
The next edition of the biathlon world cup Antholz takes place from 18 to 21 January 2018 and it will offer not only spectacular races, but also a thrilling supporting program.
