Pfalzen: holidays in the sunny village
Pfalzen is a lovely and lively holiday resort situated on a very sunny plateau in Pustertal, next to the medieval city of Bruneck. It is the perfect holiday destination for all those who appreciate tranquility and at the same time closeness to the city of Bruneck and to Mt. Kronplatz ski area.
About 3 km northwest of Bruneck, there is Pfalzen with its districts Greinwalden and Issing, on a sunny high plateau offering dreamlike views of the surrounding mountain world – from the Dolomites to the Zillertal Alps.
Pfalzen impresses with a varied sports and leisure time offer for the whole family. In summer, the natural bathing pond of Issing is perfect for swimming and right next to it, there is the wonderful high-rope course Kronaction. In winter and when there are cold temperatures, the lake becomes a beautiful ice-skating rink.
Even more fun & action
The sports area of Pfalzen is a highlight for families, offering an adventure forest playground and a bowling alley. In winter, there is a ski run with conveyor belt for kids as well as a short toboggan and snowtubing run. A bit above Pfalzen, there are two toboggan runs with longer descents. Horse lovers will look forward to the riding stables in Pfalzen and in the nearby village of Terenten; adrenaline junkies can try a tandem paragliding flight.
Hike & bike
Pfalzen has a few thematic hiking trails and Mt. Sambock and Mt. Bärentalspitze are panoramic but easy summits in the mountains of Pfunders. In winter, hikers and ski mountaineers will feel like in paradise. Another way to discover Kronplatz holiday region is by mountain bike or road bike.
