A historical holiday resort

Deep woods, mellow hills, gentle pastures and the imposing Schlern massif in the background. Such a scenery is worth a photo in any case – of course a holiday as well. Already at the beginning of the 19th century, many well-known celebrities acknowledged this, spending their summer holidays in this region. Tourism in South Tyrol was at the very beginning, as for example Arturo Toscanini (Italian music director), Manfred Eigen (German Nobel laureate for Chemistry), Carl Zuckmayer (writer) and Friedrich III (last king of the Saxons) enjoyed their holidays in Seis am Schlern.
