Seis belongs to the municipality of Kastelruth and is located at 1,004 m of altitude at the foot of the famous Seiser Alm and the impressive Schlern massif. Europe’s highest pasture is regarded as the gate to the Dolomites and can be easily and quickly reached with a modern cableway starting in Seis.

The charming village centre offers several shops, restaurants and bars for strolling, relaxing and enjoying and offers two worth-seeing churches. In the centre and in the surroundings of Seis, there are sportive, culinary and cultural events almost the whole year round.

A historical holiday resort

Deep woods, mellow hills, gentle pastures and the imposing Schlern massif in the background. Such a scenery is worth a photo in any case – of course a holiday as well. Already at the beginning of the 19th century, many well-known celebrities acknowledged this, spending their summer holidays in this region. Tourism in South Tyrol was at the very beginning, as for example Arturo Toscanini (Italian music director), Manfred Eigen (German Nobel laureate for Chemistry), Carl Zuckmayer (writer) and Friedrich III (last king of the Saxons) enjoyed their holidays in Seis am Schlern.
