Our Sonnenresidenz delights with its sunny and quiet location in Kastelruth, homely holiday flats with wonderful panoramic balcony and warm hospitality. Our house is ideal for adult guests who want to enjoy relaxed holidays amidst the dreamlike landscape of the Dolomites. Your pets are also welcome.

Intimate & cosy environments

Our flats are furnished with lots of wood and warm colours. The apartments have: sleeping area, living and lounge area with sofa bed, kitchenette or separate kitchen, bathroom and balcony with panoramic views as well as bed linen, towels, crockery, washing machine, satellite TV, safe and free WLAN. On request, we offer daily bread service.

Discovering the Seiser Alm

The Apartments Sonnenresidenz are nestled in the unique nature and mountain landscape of the famous Seiser Alm, which is one of the largest high alpine pastures in Europe. In summer, the Dolomites invite you to go hiking, climbing and biking, in winter to go skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoe hiking. There is a bus stop directly in front of our house, and we also offer free private parking.

There are no words to describe how beautiful these apartments are! A wonderful courtyard with blooming hydrangeas, a divine view from the window, a very nice hostess, the room is very clean, the bed is comfortable and the bed linen is snow-white! There is a washing machine, which was very useful. The Alpine-style design of the room gives it a special coziness. I didn't want to leave!

We stayed here as a couple in June 2025. And we really enjoyed it! It's a small but very well-maintained farm with maybe half a dozen rooms. The front rooms have a beautiful sunny balcony. You have a direct view of the Schlern and the grass/fields and wooded hills. The rooms are spacious, very clean, with a large bathroom and a small, well-equipped kitchenette. We felt very comfortable there! We found Gerlinde Trocker to be an extremely polite, accommodating, and friendly hostess. Almost sweet! Discreet but approachable and very interested in the well-being of her guests. She took the time to explain everything and was always available to answer questions. Kastelruh can be reached on foot in about 15-20 minutes uphill (approx. 150m elevation gain). The bus stop for buses to Bolzano, Bressanone, Castelrotto, and the Seiser Alm runs hourly between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. and is a 5-minute walk from the inn. The South Tyrol Ticket, which allows you to use public transport throughout South Tyrol, is included in the room rate. All in all, it's a truly beautiful area, and Mrs. Trocker's Sonnenresidenz is a charming, intimate place to enjoy a week or two in South Tyrol. I also found it very reasonably priced compared to other accommodations! We can therefore recommend this place without reservation. But you should be aware that there are no restaurants or shops in the town of Tisens itself. However, you can reach Castelrotto in 10 minutes by bus.

Wonderful location! The host's hospitality and availability are unbeatable. Well-equipped apartment, very comfortable bed and functional bathroom. In a quiet place but close to the center of Castelrotto. Frequent towel changes and shared pantry. Thank you: everything was perfect. We will return and recommend️

What a beautiful apartment! We ended up here on my brother's recommendation. It's a lovely and beautifully furnished apartment. Parking right outside, and it's close to the Seiser Alm and the charming village of Kastelruth. The view from the balcony is stunning! The apartment was fully equipped.

Rarely have we stayed as a couple in such attractive accommodations. The term "sun residence" is not an exaggeration. When the sun shines – supposedly 300 days a year in South Tyrol – it shines all day long on the village of Tisens below Castelrotto and thus also on the Malfertheiner Hof. We had a very nice, well-kept, quiet apartment with a balcony and a view of the mountains. A car isn't really necessary here, as the bus connections from here couldn't be better. And that starts with the first stop directly below the residence. As a guest, you receive a Guest Pass, which grants free travel on public buses throughout South Tyrol. What more could you want? The very friendly welcome from the hostess deserves mention, which isn't always a given. We were completely satisfied and ultimately glad we hadn't booked in the more touristy places like Castelrotto, Siusi, or Fiè.

A beautiful and well-maintained complex with comfortable and high-quality apartments in a stunning and peaceful location. The balcony offers a fantastic view of the Schlern mountain, which never fails to impress. The hostess is very friendly and helpful, and is happy to provide excellent restaurant and hiking recommendations. Guests can also take advantage of the on-site bread delivery service. We felt extremely comfortable here!
