The Gewürztraminer is one of South Tyrol’s best-known and most internationally successful premium wines. This aromatic white wine takes its name from the wine-growing village of Tramin on the South Tyrolean Wine Route, which is considered the birthplace of the grape variety. It is characterised by its intense bouquet with notes of rose petals, lychee, cinnamon and exotic fruits, as well as its spicy aromas and full body.

The warm vineyards along the South Tyrolean Wine Route in particular offer ideal conditions for the demanding cultivation of this grape variety. Today, South Tyrolean DOC Gewürztraminers are regularly among Italy’s award-winning white wines and contribute significantly to the international reputation of the South Tyrolean wine world. Alongside classics such as Lagrein, Vernatsch, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer is one of the most important flagship wines among South Tyrol’s top wines.
