Nature park Rieserferner Ahrn
Foxes, badgers, eagles and pine-martens are living in the park, which takes part of the biggest association of protected areas in Europe with the Zillertal main ridge area in Austria.
The park is situated between the bottom of the valley Tauferer Ahrntal in the Northwest, the Austrian border at Staller Sattel in the east, Antholzertal in the south-east and Pustertal in the south and over an area of around 31,505 hectares. The villages of Sand in Taufers, Gais, Percha, Rasen-Antholz, Ahrntal and Prettau belong to the park area.
The nature park Rieserferner-Ahrn borders on the Hohe Tauern national park. Together with the Zillertal main ridge area they build up the biggest association of protected areas in Europe, with a total area of 2,471 square kilometres.
The nature park house is situated in Sand in Taufers in Tauferer Ahrntal.
