Sights in Bozen & environs
Bozen and environs is probably one of the mellowest countrysides in South Tyrol: wide vineyards and orchards, suave hills and beautiful lakes and on and off cozy small wine villages, where ancient traditions are still alive.Localities in the region
The wine villages are reachable on the South Tyrolean wine road. They are worth visiting, many wine cellars and wine growing estates are situated in and near the romantic villages, where you can spend some relaxing hours by tasting wine and South Tyrolean specialties.
The cultural hotspot of Bozen and environs however is the provincial capital Bozen itself. In 2008 a museum of modern art opened there, called “Museion”. Another important sight is the archeological museum where the ice-mummy "Ötzi" is showed and the beautiful arcades through the old town of Bozen.
