Holidays in Deutschnofen
Like neighbouring Welschnofen, Obereggen and Petersberg the village Deutschnofen is located in a valley called Eggental. The region is an attractive holiday destination for all those, who like to spend much time outdoors, in winter and in summer.
Deutschnofen is the biggest municipality of the valley, which is surrounded by the mighty mountains Latemar, Rosengarten and Schlern.
Other famous mountain summits are for example also Zanggen, Weißhorn, Schwarzhorn and Mendel. If you are on a higher viewpoint and if the weather is clear, you will even see the region of the Ortler or the Ötztal and Stubai Alps. Obviously, in Deutschnofen there are countless hiking paths, climbing and biking tours.
Also, another type of sportsmen will be happy to be in Deutschnofen: For golfers, there is an 18-hole golf course in Petersberg, the highest one throughout South Tyrol.
For winter sportsmen
In the snowy winter months, Deutschnofen benefits from the proximity to the skiing region Obereggen-Latemar, which is easily reachable due to a free shuttle service in the whole valley. Here, you will find 48 km of ski slopes and 18 modern lift facilities. The skiing area Carezza Ski is easily reachable, too.
For cross-country skiers there are several cross-country ski tracks around the pass Lavazè, for winter hikers there are available more than 50 km of walking paths all around Deutschnofen.
