Besides Birchabruck, Obereggen and Rauth the village is another district of the municipality Deutschnofen. In the centre of Eggen, you will have a wonderful view of Mt. Eggentaler Horn in the Latemar area. Moreover, there is the beautiful St. Nikolaus parish church with a Gothic steeple, which is a landmark of Eggen.

Pure winter fun

During the winter months, Eggen turns into a real snow paradise, where every winter sportsmen feel at ease. After all, the popular skiing area Obereggen-Latemar with its perfectly prepared slopes, a big snow park, two toboggan runs and inviting ski huts is only about three kilometres away. For a stress-free skiing holiday during winter there is a free ski bus taking skiers from Eggen to Obereggen.

In the surroundings of Eggen, you can also find numerous snowshoe hikes and ski tours as well as several cross-country ski runs with magnificent views of the fabulous winter landscape.

Summer for mountain fans

If you love unspoiled landscapes, if you want to get to know the legendary Dolomites and if you like sporting activity in the open air, you will surely like Eggen. In summer, the little village is an excellent starting point for numerous and varied hikes with different degrees of difficulty, mountain bike tours, fixed-rope routes and more. Another very special destination is the legendary Lake Karersee that can be reached on foot or by mountain bike.

Of course, the area in the holiday region Eggental is also perfectly suitable, if you just want to relax, to sunbathe and to enjoy the panoramic view.
