Skiing region Stilfser Joch
At Stilfser Joch in Vinschgau, there is one of the last summer ski areas of the Alpine region. It is open from the beginning of May until November, as the mountain pass is closed in winter due to avalanche risk.
Whereas summer is normally the season for activities such as hiking or swimming, Stilfser Joch Pass opens its ski runs for skiing lovers. In front of the impressive scenery of Ortler Cevedale Group, Stilfser Joch glacier offer broad slopes. Former skiers such as Alberto Tomba, Gustav Thöni or Deborah Compagnoni trained here in the past. Today, the current world cup athletes are getting prepared for the next competition season.
Cross-country skiers will look forward to the panoramic tracks Livrio and Cristallo.
