Classic cross-country ski runs

Although the alpine region is known primarily for its wonderful skiing regions, it offers also quite popular areas for cross-country skiers. Here we present you the classics!

Antholz

This tranquil side valley of the Pustertal becomes an international sports destination in winter. World Cup races and World Championships are held here. Around the cross-country skiing centre in the upper valley, there are a good 30 km of cross-country ski runs ranging from easy to difficult. Cross-country skiing classes are offered as well.

Gsies

This valley is not as famous as the neighbouring Antholz, nevertheless it can be proud of its first class cross-country ski runs and a renowned cross-country skiing competition, it is still a very attractive destination. The 40 km long valley run is not all that difficult and leads through the untouched valley passing age-old farms.

Hochpustertal

With 200 km of cross-country ski runs, the Hochpustertal fulfils your every wish. The magnet for cross-country skiers is the cross-country stadium in Toblach, the venue for international competitions. But there are also superb pleasure runs. In the romantic valley Fischleintal near Sexten, for example, or the Toblacher Lake run, that can be extended as far as Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Ridnaun

This beautifully situated side valley, not far from Sterzing is, with its good snow conditions and wide valley floor, just made for cross-country skiers. No wonder that many competitions, even international ones, take place in the Cross-Country and Biathlon Centre in Maiern. The highpoint for cross-country skiers is the 25 km long valley run, that ends in the centre in Maiern.
