Holidays on an idyllic mountain pasture: In the morning, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view to the surrounding mountains, lighted by the first sunbeams and waiting for you with countless hiking and climbing paths.

Völs am Schlern is a popular health resort at the foot of the South Tyrolean landmark Mt. Schlern and is characterised by a mild climate and a magnificent panoramic position. The municipality of Völs has about 3,500 m of inhabitants and is formed by the districts of Blumau, Oberaicha, Obervöls, Prösels, Pröslerried, St. Anton, St. Kathrein, St. Konstantin, Steg, Ums, Unteraicha, Untervöls and Völserried.

In the 19th century already, the village at the foot of Seiser Alm was very popular with vacationers from the nearby city of Bozen. Also, Völs is considered as being the place of origin of the hay bath. In fact, it is a famous destination for those who are searching for regeneration still today.

Getaway at the foot of Seiser Alm

In the immediate vicinity of Völs am Schlern, there are also Kastelruth and the well-known Seiser Alm. The legendary mountain world of Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park offers countless walking paths, MTB trails, ski runs and cross-country ski tracks.

The holiday region all around is popular especially among mountaineers, as well as among families with children: Because on the Europe’s largest high-alpine pasture located at about 2,000 m above sea level, there are countless running and hiking paths and a lot of nice places which are ideal for a picnic with the whole family.

Besides exciting mountain tours, variety and entertainment are ensured for example during an excursion to the swimming pond of Völs, to the local parish museum or to Prösels Castle, a fabulous building with loggias, outside staircase and well.

Culinary pleasures and exquisite delicacies are offered in Völs almost all year round during exciting events. During the culinary weeks “Völser Kuchlkastl” in October, epicures will feel like in paradise. In spring, when it is time for Schlern Music chamber music festival, international artist will perform right here in Völs am Schlern.
