South Tyrolean chestnut experience trail
The nature experience trail in Völlan above Lana is an easy circular trail which brings you through chestnut groves south of Meran up to the Tisner low mountain range. On ten information boards which are partly interactive you will learn a lot about chestnuts, chestnut trees and the different kinds of the noble fruit.
A big “Keschtnigl” (prickly shell) shows you the entrance of the trail. Follow the wooden sculptures and the information boards. Every point of interest focuses on one particular theme and is transmitting knowledge about history, science and curiosity. As well, you can make some exciting experiments with the whole family.
In about two hours you can learn many about the prickly fruit. The hiking tour is regarded as easy but good footwear is recommended!
