From the Pfiffinger Köpfl mountain station (1,900 m), take trail no. 17 or 14 to the Kirchsteiger Alm inn (the Meraner Hütte is not far away). From here, take the chairlift up to the Kleine Mittager (approx. 2,300 m). Take path 13 A to the crossroads and cross the mountain flank of the Großer Mittager on path 13 to the Kesselbergerscharte (2,280 m). On the east side, descend to the small Kesselbergsee lake on path 14 and continue to Sambachschartl (2,080 m), a little below is the Öttenbacher Almschenke.

Take trail 14 (panoramic trail) back via the Meraner Hütte and the Kirchsteiger Alm to the Pfiffinger Köpfl cable car.

From Meran/Obermais to Naif and on the Haflinger road with the Ifinger cable car up to the Pfiffinger Köpfl, or you can also take the Hafling/Falzeben cable car.
