Ski tour to Dürrenstein

The tour is of medium difficulty but often the mountain may reserve surprises. That is why we decide to tackle the tour to Dürrenstein in the end of April. It starts in the morning at 6 am from Bruneck, where there was a beautiful starry night, to reach Plätzwiese, of course, by car. The snow was not a lot, but we started the tour at 6.45 am.

To shorten a little the trail we kept left, we have followed for the top on the iced snow. We have not orienting problems, there were before us at least another 10 mountaineers climbed to the top. We rose to coil on the iced snow. After about two hours we arrived at the top, where we could drink hot tea and then have breakfast admiring a beautiful landscape. After about an hour, we descended towards Plätzwiese. The snow was still quite difficult and demanding.

All in all a nice trip, apart from the partly not excellent snow conditions.
