Exhibition The Mountaineers
At eye level with the legends of alpinism and with view to breathtaking, abstract mountain landscapes… This is the main topic of the touring exhibition "The Mountaineers".
The photographer Manuel Ferrigato (born in Brixen, living in Hamburg) has created very special portraits of world-famous mountaineers: surrounded by their favorite mountains, unvarnished and sober, but at the same time peerlessly expressive and authentic.
Seeing these pictures, you will understand the relation between man and mountain and feel, how closely they are connected.
A "hiking" exhibition
The exhibitions follows suit the unsettled alpinist, who will never stand still. The first presentation of "The Mountaineers" will take place on 17th August at 7 pm on the cathedral square in Brixen, where the photos are shown for one week.
Between 25th August and 4th September the mountaineers’ portraits will be exposed on the square J.W. von Goethe in Sterzing, then they move to the square of the thermal baths in Meran (5th to 13th September) and finally to the central square Waltherplatz in Bozen (14th September to 1st October).
After the Dolomites photos of National Geographic this is already the second exhibitions organized in collaboration with the International Mountain Summit, this time together with the city gallery and the municipality of Brixen.
