To offer something also to skiers, Meran has a wonderful ski resort underneath Mt. Ifinger in a very sunny alpine pasture. The ski resort is called Meran 2000. The snow-sure slopes are reachable from Meran city.
In summer, the plateau over the basin of Meran is a popular hiking area. There are a lot of paths which render possible both cosy strolls and long hikes. Also in winter, Meran 2000 is a popular destination for holidaymakers. You can ski on about 40 kilometres of ski runs which are adapted for beginners, but also for experienced skiers. Besides, there are a skiing school and a ski kindergarten.
The highlight of Meran 2000 is the toboggan run track “Alpine Bob Meran 2000”, which is opened all year round. Being 1.1 km long, it is the longest toboggan run track in Italy.
