From Klammeben, take the Hirzer cable car up to the Hirzerhütte (1,983 m). Follow the European long-distance hiking trail no. 5 to the Hinteregger Alm and the Mahdalm.

Then you have to overcome a steep ridge on trail no. 1 and cross the slopes below the Pfandlspitze. The path is challenging and steep and requires surefootedness!

Then the descent begins over steep alpine meadows to the Pfandler Alm (1,320 m), Andreas Hofer's hideout. Follow the wide path to the Pfandler Hof, turn left across the meadows to the Hofkapelle chapel and take forest path no. 3 or E5 to Pfeiftal. Keep right at the snack station, cross the Fartleisbach stream and finally take the road to the Sandwirt in St. Leonhard in Passeier.
