Strawberry Days in Martell

Due to the regulations concerning coronavirus, events currently take place in a modified form or at another time!
From 19th June to 3rd July 2021, Martell once again celebrates the most cultivated and most appreciated fruit of the valley: the strawberry!

The small, tasty berries have always been popular with young and old. Almost everyone loves strawberries – and that’s why Martell has come up with an alternative to the traditional Strawberry Festival this year. For a fortnight, the restaurants of the valley serve delicious dishes in which the sweet berries play the leading role.

In addition, you can take part in numerous exciting activities during the Strawberry Days, where you can learn many interesting facts about the strawberry and its special characteristics. The programme includes workshops, guided hikes on the South Tyrolean Strawberry Trail, tours through the strawberry field, jam cooking classes and of course tastings.

Here you can find detailed information on the restaurants, dates, times and costs of the various activities.

Strawberry growing in Martell

In the Martell Valley, strawberries are grown between 900 and 1,800 metres above sea level. The dry climate, the warm days and cool nights let the berries ripen relatively slowly, which gives them a very special aroma

Thanks to these climatic conditions, the strawberry harvest is usually still in full swing here, when it is already over in most other growing regions in Europe. If you want, you can taste and buy the red fruits directly at the South Tyrolean Strawberry World in Martell during the harvest season from June to September.
