Törggele time in Kastelbell-Tschars
Experiencing the magic of the autumn in Vinschgau in South Tyrol is a unique adventure between red-golden landscapes, tempting smells and seasonal dishes, which arouse desire for more.
With the beginning of autumn and of the harvest in the wine-growing areas of the region there starts the everywhere highly esteemed "Törggele" season, that’s the South Tyrolean tradition. For all those, who still don’t know the tradition of Törggelen: This old rural custom is all about pleasure and culinary delights.
So if you range among gourmets, you won’t have a better opportunity to taste the local autumn specialties. Roast chestnuts, new wine, hearty soups, dumplings, bacon, sausages with cabbage and potatoes and much more are served between the end of September and mid-November also in the rustic inns in Kastelbell-Tschars.
It would be best if you’d combine the visit to one of the rustic taverns (Angerguterkeller, Gstirnerkeller, Himmelreichhof, Pfraum, Niedermoarhof, Schlosswirt Juval) with a autumn hike through colorful forests and idyllic chestnut groves.
Nature, hiking & pleasure
Moreover we recommend you a trip to Juval Castle owned by the famous South Tyrolean mountaineer Reinhold Messner and to Kastelbell Castle.
Not forgetting the popular Törggele festival in Galsaun, which is scheduled for the weekend of the 20th and 21st October 2018: with two days of lively music, entertainment and countless gastronomic autumn highlights.
