Brixen Dolomites Marathon

Where: Cathedral square, Brixen
Region: Eisacktal

For the next edition of the Brixen Dolomites Marathon, the organizers expect again numerous athletes in top form, who dare to tackle the demanding mountain run. After all, not everybody is able to manage the 2,450 meters of difference in altitude between Brixen and Mt. Plose.

All those, who would like to face the challenge – or to cheer their favorite runner on – should note down the 6 July 2019 in their calendar.

The competition starts at 7.30 pm on the dome square in Brixen (560 m). From there, the participants do the 42 kilometer long marathon distance over St. Andrä, Afers and Kreuztal to the top of Mt. Plose (2,450 m) at a run.

The route to the nearby mountain of Brixen runs partly on asphalt roads, partly on forest paths and trails. If you think you’re not capable of doing eight hours of marathon on your own, you can also compete as a relay team with four members.

The benchmarks of the Brixen Dolomites Marathon already give an idea of the demands and the tension. Last but not least also the wonderful mountain scenery of the sport event ensures that it will be an unforgettable experience – for athletes and fans.
