Schenna Castle
In particular should not miss a visit to Schenna Castle and its museum in the area of Meran and surroundings in South Tyrol.
The Castle
The castle was built in 1350 and is now owned by the lords of Habsburg who possess it from more than one hundred years. Located just across Castel Tyrol, at the entrance of Passeiertal, became one of the anchors of Tyrolean history. The vast halls are all well-equipped with stoves of the XVII century and a vast collection of paintings and portraits, a valuable collection of Andreas Hofer. In internal halls has also established the Museum of history of Tyrol with papers on the history of the area in time nineteenth. You can also admire the collection of weapons, furniture and paintings, today, furniture of the manor.
Both children and adults alike will relive the past with a visit to the well-preserved Schenna Castle, and once finished the visit to the Castle, the cultural city of Schenna will have to offer many other possibilities of fun for your vacation in South Tyrol!
