Ski lovers look forward to the world cup race at Mt. Kronplatz, one of the most famous skiing areas in South Tyrol!
The International Ski Federation has officially confirmed the women’s giant slalom at Mt. Kronplatz for the season 2018/2019.
The race will take place on 15 January on the “Erta” run, leading from Piz da Plaies to St. Vigil in Enneberg. As one of the “Black Fives” of Mt. Kronplatz, it offers a striking steepness. The start is at 1,605 m, the finish line at 1,200 m on the “Pedegà” run. The detailed characteristics of the run are impressive: 32 % average inclination, 22 % minimal and 61 % maximal inclination in the area of “Gran Para” in the central part.
The Erta slope, has already hosted several Europe cup men’s races (slalom and giant slalom). It has taken about 15 years to bring the world cup back to Mt. Kronplatz – an intense challenge, which was absolutely worth it. In the middle of the speed race in St. Anton (AUT) and Cortina d’Ampezzo (ITA), the giant slalom at Mt. Kronplatz offers much adrenaline for the racers.
Of course, visitors will also enjoy a varied entertainment programme during this international event. Cheer your favourite racers and look forward to an all-in-all exciting event in South Tyrol!
