Astner Bergalm

We know of 2 alpine huts in Pustertal Valley where you can reserve a barbecue area on the alpine meadow or terrace – perfect for a relaxed barbecue with friends or family in an idyllic mountain landscape! Although you have to barbecue yourself, you don't have to worry about anything else. The hospitable landlords and landladies will take care of everything else. Both mountain huts are also perfect for a family outing with a playground and pram-friendly path and offer beautiful views.

Hofstatt Alm

Grill & chill on the alpine meadow

We have already introduced you to the Hofstatt hut in our tips for breakfast and brunch on the mountain pasture: It is located at 1,350 m above sea level in the Antholz Valley and is a 30-minute walk from the Antholz Niedertal car park. Run by Manuel and Patrizia, the mountain hut is open every day except Monday during summer until the beginning of November. Regional delicacies and grilled spare ribs are served on Sundays. You can also book a fire plate (OFYR – The Art of Outdoor Cooking) at the Hofstatt Alm. Meat, vegetables, cold drinks, wood, tables, benches, deckchairs, plates, glasses and cutlery are provided by the hut owner and his team. You can start barbecuing from 9 am and continue until late in the evening: So that you can really enjoy your chilled barbecue day on the mountain pasture.

Pleasure & fun on the alpine terrace

You can also enjoy a barbecue on the Astner Bergalm at 1,640 metres above sea level in the Winnebachtal valley near Terenten: You can reserve the alpine barbecue terrace for at least 10 people – a little away from the other guests – from 11 am to 7 pm. In addition to tables, benches, and a barbecue, there are also plates, glasses, cutlery, spices, and drinks. And of course Leni, Zello and their team will also prepare the delicacies you have selected for the barbecue in good time. The Astner Bergalm is a 40-minute walk from the Winnebachtal car park. If you start the hike in the village centre of Terenten, it will take you an hour longer. The mountain hut is open every day except Tuesdays until the beginning of November. Those with a sweet tooth particularly enjoy visiting the Astner Bergalm on Sundays: In addition to the dishes on the menu, they serve not only grilled chicken and pork knuckles, but also apple cakes, grapes, and doughnuts.
