Hiking tour to Ehrenburg Castle
The Castel Ehrenburg is situated in Pustertal in the Dolomites on a hill in the village of Ehrenburg/Kiens. There, apart from ancient furniture, you can see also marvellous arcades of the baroque centuries. The castle was in propriety of the Earls of Künigl since many centuries and thanks to them the castle is in a perfect state. The family sold it in 2010. Now it is privately owned and unfortunately closed for visitors.
Tour description:
The 2,5 km hiking tour begins in the centre of Ehrenburg. On the "Schlossweg" you reach the castle in a half of an hour. You can lengthen the tour, going to the Gasthaus Knapp and taste there typical specialities from Pustertal. After visiting the castle, you can discover the surroundings of Ehrenburg.
