Route description
The hiking tour starts in St. Johann, more precisely at Gasthof Stallila. First on a forest road, then on a good hiking trail to the Daimeralm. In steep hairpin bends up the eastern side of the valley and over moraine debris to the so-called Rotbachkees.
Here the path divides: right to the via ferrata, left normal path over the remains of firn and glacier slabs to the Schwarzensteinhütte (both paths are well marked). From the hut over scree and firn to the Felsköpfl. Short descent in the opposite direction (exposed sections) to the flat glacier. Over this (watch out for crevasses), to the NE ridge, then over easy rock to the summit.
