Hiking tour Dürrenstein

Numerous panoramic mountains around Monguelfo and Tesido invite you to enjoy a leisurely hike. The Dürrenstein above the romantic Plätzwiese Alm in the Pragsertal valley is particularly recommended.
Starting point of the tour
Destination of the tour
The starting point of this tour is Plätzwiese. Take trail no. 33 northwards to the southern slope of the Dürrenstein. Trail no. 33 is also part of the Dolomitenhöhenweg trail no. 3. Once on the southern slope, hikers take trail no. 40 and climb first on alpine meadows and then on well-marked rocky paths to the summit of the Dürrenstein.
The view that awaits mountaineers here is impressive: to the north the Zillertal Alps and the Hohe Tauern, to the east and south the Sexten Dolomites, Monte Cristallo and the Hohe Gaisl. The way back is the same as the way out.
