The Kastelruther Spatzen
The undoubtedly most famous sons of Kastelruth have made their home on the Seiser Alm famous worldwide with their music.
The Kastelruther Spatzen have been on stage since the early 1980s and year after year Norbert Rier - probably the best-known "Spatz" - and his men have produced catchy tunes and best-selling CDs. Their songs are known worldwide and the musicians from Kastelruth have won all the important prizes that can be awarded in the world of folk music, from gold records to the Krone der Volksmusik and the ECHO Award. This makes them the most successful German-speaking folk pop group ever.
With their well-known and new hits - "Eine weiße Rose", "Liebe darf alles", "Dolomitenfeuer" and many more - they tour all over Europe. Nevertheless, they return to their home country every year for two fixed dates that every Spatzen fan should make a note of in their diary:
- Kastelruther Spatzen Open Air in Kastelruth in June
- Spatzen Festival in Kastelruth in October
