Bike Park Kronplatz - Downhill
In 2010, the Herrnsteig MTB trail was opened at Kronplatz as the first official freeride trail in South Tyrol. Over the years, this has developed into the Kronplatz Bike Park with a total of 17 trails and a skills park.
Mt. Kronplatz is a 2,275 m high mountain and the centre of a popular hiking and skiing area. It offers a fantastic view from the Dolomites to the main Alpine ridge and a variety of leisure activities. Mountain bikers also get their money's worth here: In the Bike Park Kronplatz they can choose between varied trails of different lengths and degrees of difficulty. A total of 5 lifts takes bikers to lofty heights in summer, 4 of them right to the top of the summit plateau.
Freeride & downhill at Mt. Kronplatz
From easy to difficult, from north- to south-facing, from short to long – with the 17 trails in the Bike Park Kronplatz, there is a suitable route for everyone. The cable cars from Reischach, Percha, Olang, St. Vigil in Enneberg or from Furkel Pass take mountain bikers comfortably up to the starting points of various trails. In addition, there is a free bike shuttle between St. Vigil in Enneberg and the Furkel Pass during the summer months. The most challenging trail is certainly the approx. 8 km long Herrnsteig, on which around 1,300 m of altitude difference have to be mastered downhill.
For beginners and pros
Gassl and Piz de Plaies, Furcia and Korer – among the various trails, every mountain biker will find the right route. If you do not have the right equipment with you, you can find it at a bike rental. And the Skills Park Cir is perfect as a training area: There are steep curves and balance sections for practising, and beginners can try their first jumps. MTB guides for technique training or tours can also be booked. A highlight for all bike fans is the Kronplatz King: Professionals and amateurs can take part in this MTB marathon.
