Route description
By bus or car up to the Sarner Skihütte (1,618 m). From here follow trail 2 along the stream to the Auener Alm (summer management) and to the Auenjoch. At the large crossroads, take trail 4 or E5 across open alpine meadows to the ridge of the Schöneck (2,001 m). Here you will find the countless stone towers around which numerous legends entwine.
Descent: From the 'Stoanernen Mandern' back to the Auenjoch, then to the Kreuzjoch and via trail 15 or 2A back to the Sarner Ski Hut.
