Helmet compulsory on ski slopes

Helmets have been compulsory for years on motorbikes and mopeds, they have been compulsory for children under 18 years of age on ski slopes since 2022, and from the 2025/2026 winter season they will become compulsory for everyone, without exception!

As of the 2025/2026 winter season, wearing a helmet will become mandatory for everyone, regardless of age, on all ski, snowboard and toboggan runs. This new regulation was created with the aim of increasing the safety of winter sports enthusiasts by reducing the risk of injury in the event of a fall or collision.

Those who fail to comply with the obligation will be subject to administrative sanctions: they may incur a fine and, in the most serious cases, even risk being removed from the slopes by safety personnel.

It must be said that by now most skiers already wear helmets regularly, recognising their usefulness and comfort. The few who do not yet do so will simply have to adapt to the new regulations.

A useful... and fashionable accessory!

The helmet has now also become an element of style: black for those who like a sober and elegant look, coloured or decorated with plush ears for those who prefer to have fun with clothing too!

Choosing the right helmet

Not all helmets are the same: it is important that they are type-approved and comply with legal standards. They must guarantee a good view, be the right size (neither too big nor too small) and offer good protection against impact and penetration.

If you do not own a helmet, no problem: you can easily rent one together with your ski equipment.

How to wear it correctly

The helmet must be well adjusted to fit the head perfectly, worn correctly (never pushed back on the nape of the neck) and must be replaced after every major impact, even if it appears intact.

Finally, remember that the helmet is only one of the safety measures: the best way to avoid an accident and enjoy a mountain holiday is to maintain a careful and respectful behaviour, for oneself and for others.
