Wool Road
Our editorial team always tries to provide detailed and accurate information, but it is possible that events undergo changes that we are unable to update in real time. Exact details on dates, times and programmes can be obtained directly from the organiser. The Wool Road will take place on Saturday, 3 October 2026, from 9 am to 4 pm in the centre of St. Leonhard in Passeier – whatever the weather. The focus is on local sheep, their precious wool and the many ways in which it can be processed. Visitors can look forward to a varied programme centred on sheep farming, wool and craftsmanship.
The idea for the Wool Trail originated in 2015 on the initiative of Franz Haller, senior partner at Spinnradl, who has been involved in processing local mountain sheep’s wool for decades. The event was launched in collaboration with the South Tyrolean Felt and Wool Association and the Passeier Sheep Breeders’ Association. Today, it vividly illustrates the importance of sheep farming and the wool craft to the culture and traditions of the Passeiertal Valley.
