Museion Bozen

The offer at Museion includes guided tours, creative workshops and art talks for kids and adults. As well, Museion organises events setting at their centre contemporary music and dance performances.

Futuristic architecture

The building of Museion was designed by the Berlin architects KSV Krüger Schuberth Vandreike as a 54 m long and 25 m high cube. The building’s transparent front facades are in a dialogue with the city and with the landscape and create a connection of both the historical city centre of Bozen with the famous arcades and the other districts dating back to the 1920s and 1930. The interiors have an open character: The rooms and areas for exhibitions and events, the library, the café and the museum shop are not strictly separated as they are merged into one another.

Varied cultural pleasures

Museion in Bozen combines the vivid exhibition practice of an art gallery with the maintenance and the expansion of the own collection that is displayed along a special focus or in collaboration with other collections. If you are enthusiastic about contemporary art or just curious about current trends in the area of culture, you can see interesting works by international and regional artists at Museion. The collection mainly focusses on light works or the formal language of sculptures. Innovative highlight: During summer evenings, the glass facades of Museion become projections surfaces for a very special experience of contemporary media art.
