A particularly rewarding cycle tour is the one from Feldthurns to the Klausner Hütte.

Description

Feldthurns is a sun-drenched village near Brixen in the Eisack Valley and is recommended for outdoor activities of all kinds.

Route description

The tour starts in the village centre of Feldthurns near the church. Here, mountain bikers take the road towards Schnauders and turn left at Feldthurns Castle towards the village of Schnauders. Continue straight ahead until you reach a small sawmill.
At the 1st bend to the right, mountain bikers turn left and cycle straight on until they reach a fork in the road. At the crossroads, continue left uphill and straight on to the junction with a tarmac road.

Cyclists follow this road uphill to the right. Continue to the Garner weather cross and continue on the path to the Klausner Hütte. Follow this signposting to the Klausner Hütte, which is a great place to stop for refreshments in the summer months. If you like, you can continue the tour to the Latzfonser Kreuz. Return along the same route.

Trains stop at the railway station in Brixen, Klausen or Waidbruck, bus connection to Feldthurns.

Directions

Auf der Brennerautobahn A22 bis zur Ausfahrt Klausen, dann auf der Staatsstraße kurz Richtung Klausen (200 m), anschließend rechts aufwärts in die Ortschaft Feldthurns.
