Tru di tiers – on the trail of wild animals
On the almost 1 km long thematic trail at the foot of Mt. Heiligkreuzkofel, kids and adults can learn more about indigenous wildlife.
The educational trail “Tru di tiers” allows families to learn more about wild animals in South Tyrol. The hiking tour starts near Lee hut at the top station of Santa Croce chairlift at the foot of Mt. Heiligkreuzkofel near Abtei. Via an about 400 m long, easy walking path with the signpost nr. 7A, you will reach the small mountain lake Lêch dla Lée within short time. Also, the thematic hiking tour is suitable for strollers.
Along the path, you will see many animal sculptures, which were carved by local craftsmen with chainsaws out of larch and pine wood. Eagle, ibex, marmot or capercaillie – many animals can be discovered.
Children particularly love the stamp-collecting game. With a free card that is available at the top station of the chairlift or in Lee hut, you can collect the stamps at the wooden sculptures. If the card has all stamps on it, you are offered a small gift at the pickup place.
There is as well the possibility to participate in a treasure hunt on “Tru di tiers” educational path. If you find it along the path, you are given a nice souvenir too.
