Hiking area Watles

In winter, Watles adventure mountain in Vinschgau is not only one of South Tyrol’s sunniest skiing areas, but also a hot spot for cross-country skiers and biathletes thanks to the Nordic Centre Schlinig. In summer, Watles is a good starting point for excursions and mountain bike tours with breath-taking panoramic views to Ortler Group, Sesvenna Group, Ötztal Alps and the entire valley of Obervinschgau.

Especially comfortable

During the summer months, the popular hiking taxi bus shuttles from Watles valley station to Schlinig every ten minutes. In case of good weather, the chairlift takes mountain lovers to the family-friendly, well-marked hiking paths within a few minutes.

An extraordinary adventure mountain

Situated at the chairlift’s mountain station, families can find a special highlight: the adventure lake. Here, kids can play on a wooden raft, at the waterfalls or on the adventure slide, whereas parents can relax on wooden sunbeds on the sandy beach or try the Kneipp parcours.

Special fun sports highlight on Watles in Vinschgau are for instance the funballz, giant transparent balls for walking, running or jumping over the water. The Watles Riders are similar to go-carts and allow you to make rapid descents from the valley to the top station.

Beneath the top station near Höferalm hut, ponies & co. are waiting for the kid’s caresses at the petting zoo. Teenagers, however, prefer cool challenges: On the free running parcours, they can manage natural obstacles as well as specifically integrated elements, showing acrobatic feats such as backflips or palm spins.

Varied activities

The 3D archery trail above Burgeis near the top station offers two panoramic parcours for beginners and experts. A warm-up course, an arch rental and lessons, make it easy for everyone to practice this interesting sport.
