© Klaus Peterlin - Neue Rosskopf GmbHSterzing in upper Eisacktal is one of the highest cities in the Alps. Situated only a two-minutes-walk from the medieval city centre of Sterzing, a modern gondola lift brings you to Rosskopf – in summer and in winter. During the cold months, Rosskopf is a famous skiing area with perfectly prepared slopes and a wonderful toboggan run. In summer, it offers varied activities for all ages in the middle of a dreamlike mountain landscape.
Reaching the summit by cableway
Also in summer, the gondolas hover to an altitude of 1,800 m and in the main season, a panoramic chairlift goes even higher-. This way, everybody has the possibility to enjoy a dreamlike panoramic view over Zillertal Alps, the Dolomites, Sarntal Alps and Stubai Alps. It is rare that you can reach a mountain world with easy and challenging hiking tours directly from a city. We particularly recommend the Dolomieu path, passing along six pastures and finishing in Pflersch valley, guaranteeing an unforgettable holiday.
