Hotel Burgaunerhof

Hotel in Martell in Vinschgau / South Tyrol

Family-run hotel with comfortable rooms, new wellness area with panoramic view, indoor pool & whirlpool as well as delicious, regional dishes.

Welcome to Hotel Burgaunerhof in Martelltal!

In the heart of the Stilfserjoch National Park, the Burgaunerhof, a family-run hotel in Vinschgau Valley for three generations, is the ideal place to find yourself and reconnect with nature. Under the motto of “Time for Me,” we invite our guests to experience moments of authentic wellness and adventure in the beautiful Martell Valley, one of the most picturesque valleys in South Tyrol. Surrounded by a unique natural environment, our facility is designed to offer you personalized experiences: whether you are a trekker, a gourmet or are looking for a bit of tranquillity, you will always feel professionally and warmly welcomed by the Pircher family.

Wellness with a view

We have dedicated the entire fourth floor of the hotel to panoramic wellness, creating a retreat with a Finnish sauna, herbal bio-sauna, marble steam room, and a private spa with a tub and relaxation beds. Natural materials from the Martell, bright rooms, a focus on sustainability and an indoor pool with jacuzzi complete the wellness experience. There is no shortage of tailor-made treatments, relaxing music and a selection of herbal teas to enrich your sensory journey and make you experience every moment as a gift.

Breakfast, and off to adventure

Every day at Burgaunerhof begins with a hearty breakfast buffet, where homemade specialities and South Tyrolean products prepare your palate for new discoveries. Here, at an elevation of 1100 meters, you can set off directly from the hotel to explore more than 350 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying breathtaking views. In the evening, our gourmet half-board awaits you in the panoramic dining room, and to end the day, enjoy a cocktail personally prepared by Günther Pircher, in the hotel bar.

We look forward to having you soon as our guests!
Your host family Pircher

A fantastic hotel! I was particularly impressed by the friendliness of the team, the delicious cheese buffet in the morning, and the excellent dinners – a real treat every time! The spa area is also beautiful and perfect for relaxing. I will definitely be back!

A true gem in the Martell Valley – relaxation at its finest! Our stay at the Hotel Burgaunerhof was simply wonderful! From the moment you arrive, you feel the warm hospitality that makes this hotel so special. The entire team is incredibly attentive, friendly, and always eager to fulfill every wish – you immediately feel welcome and right at home. The rooms are comfortably furnished. The peaceful location with its magnificent views of the surrounding mountains ensures pure relaxation. Waking up in the morning and enjoying the fresh mountain air is simply priceless! Breakfast is an absolute highlight for a great start to the day: a wide selection of regional products. The five-course dinner also impresses with its creativity, quality, and regional focus – every course is a delight! The new wellness area exudes a wonderful atmosphere of well-being – perfect for unwinding after a hike. The sauna and relaxation room offer just the right amount of relaxation. I would also like to emphasize the personal touch: you can tell that everyone here works with heart and passion. The Burgaunerhof is not an anonymous hotel, but a place where genuine hospitality is truly practiced. I wholeheartedly recommend the Burgaunerhof – whether for hiking, relaxation, or simply enjoying yourself. Anyone wanting to experience the Martell Valley at its finest will find it here! Many thanks to the Pircher family and their team.

We had a wonderful holiday at the Hotel Burgaunerhof. The food is fantastic! The sauna, with its breathtaking view, is a place to pause and let your mind wander. The hosts and their staff are always helpful and very polite. We booked a simple room, and that was it.

Very friendly staff, family-run hotel, fabulous food, and desserts that have never tasted so good. If I really had to make a complaint, the evening buffet didn't live up to the rich breakfast. The wellness center is simply wonderful, with saunas and relaxation areas offering mountain views both inside and out through state-of-the-art windows, an indoor pool, a hot tub, and an infrared cabin. Plus, there's a treatment area with massages, available upon request. I've never seen anything like this in a mountain hotel. Every detail in the common areas is thoughtfully designed and carefully selected. Located at the entrance to the valley, it's a twenty-minute drive to reach the higher altitudes. Note for dog owners: there are very few green spaces in the immediate vicinity for evening peeing. Highly recommended hotel!

We stayed at the Burgaunerhof from August 4th to 13th. We were very satisfied and felt incredibly comfortable. The 3 stars are absolutely justified and, by international standards, even worth 3.5 stars. It was a blessing for us to get one of the rooms facing the valley. Not only because of the phenomenal view, but also in light of the heat wave we experienced shortly after our arrival. The rooms are sufficiently spacious with a balcony and are cleaned every day. We always had a smile upon returning to the hotel when we saw our bed linen. It was arranged differently every day, often shaped like a heart. One of the truly many small details that demonstrate how lovingly the hotel is run by the Pircher family. In general, it is extremely clean everywhere. Very noticeable. Pleasant. The breakfast is very plentiful. Lots of regional products. Cheese, sausage, salads, countless types of muesli, five or six different types of bread, fruit, vegetables, etc. And: homemade jams. Incredibly delicious. Apricots are delicious. Sometimes we ate them on their own, they were so delicious. Unfortunately, we only brought one glass, which we already regret, because the glass was empty after a week when we got home. After breakfast, it's a good idea to explore the valley. We were there on our e-bikes. We started some wonderful tours from here. Upon returning, there was usually strawberry cake. Accompanied by Aperol Spritz or the sensational currant prosecco. I always thought my mother used to make the best strawberry cake. We were proven wrong. World class. Before dinner, we usually went to the beautiful wellness area. Terrace with a view of the mountains. There are dates, nuts, and dried bananas as snacks, along with various teas. The sauna. What can we say? Perhaps one of the most beautiful saunas we've ever seen, and we go to the sauna a lot. What a view. All the way down to the valley. A complete panorama. Incredibly beautiful. A steam bath and bio sauna are also available. And, of course, showers. In the basement, there's a beautiful relaxation area with a pool. Dinner. 5 courses. First, a varied salad buffet with plenty of fresh delicacies. You choose your main course from the menu at breakfast. We found the "second helping" to be a special service. Son Pircher, who is also responsible for the beautiful and lovingly compiled wine list, went from table to table after the main course. This way, you could also try the second main course. Our favorite from the wine list: Pinot Blanc from Lehengut in the Vinschgau. But we also enjoyed the other Vinschgau wines. The food isn't typically South Tyrolean. If you're expecting something rustic, you're probably wrong, or you're simply surrendering to the kitchen's own, very tasty creativity. We really enjoyed it. Everything was fresh. Nothing convenience. We were extremely full every evening and, at the very latest, very happy by the time we had our digestif on the terrace. You can't hear anything about the street you sometimes mention after 10 p.m. at the latest, because a car passes by every now and then. We slept wonderfully. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the wonderful and very relaxing vacation. The Pirchers put their heart and soul into their business, which can be seen and felt everywhere. Very personal, very welcoming. Thanks also to the friendly and efficient service team in the restaurant. Thank you very much for the wonderful time.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Pircher family and the entire team once again for the service, the diverse culinary offerings, and the personal conversations. We booked a larger room. Plenty of space, everything clean and tidy. I was personally pleased that there weren't so many curtains in the windows (only blackout curtains), which made the rooms wonderfully bright. The street has normal traffic, but there are also quiet rooms. You can discuss anything with the hotel owners. It didn't bother me. There is a wellness area, and everything is very nice, clean, and well-maintained. We had a wonderful rest; the surroundings are beautiful. There are so many things to do. There is a bus stop directly below the hotel, which you can use free of charge if you are staying in the Martell Valley. There is a spacious parking lot next to the hotel and a secure bicycle garage with electrical outlets. In the evenings, the bar invites you to linger and spend a pleasant evening with other guests. It was a very pleasant stay.

The room had a somewhat small shower, but the room service was excellent, even folding your T-shirts. The water was immediately warm, absolutely clean, and soap/shampoo was available at the sink and in the shower. The TV was adequate, and the beds were a dream. (Only 4 stars because the shower in my room was really, really small...in one of the other, even smaller rooms, the shower was enormous in comparison.) The service was above average! 3 stars doesn't apply here. Definitely 4 to 5 star service. Super nice owners/waiters/staff! Without exception, courteous, friendly, and neat. The food (I had half board (breakfast and dinner)) is absolutely outstanding. Very, very good cuisine. Lots of choice at breakfast and always varied. Excellent coffees and a selection of local dishes. Dinner consists of a four-course menu. There's always a vegetarian alternative to the meaty main course, and if not, you can tell the staff you're vegetarian and they'll give you excellent alternatives. The individual portions seem meager, but there's so much second helpings after the main course that you'll burst. And I can eat like a hamburger! The sauna and pool area each have a great relaxation area with plenty of beds and loungers. Everything here is also super clean. All in all, a great vacation, highly recommended!

We and the entire family are now regular guests and for good reason. The warmth of the Pircher family and their attentive and courteous treatment of their guests is remarkable. The rooms are nice and cozy and the excellent food is always one of the highlights we look forward to most (including excellent wine advice)! Simply a place to feel good and relax. Thank you Pircher family!
