Cabbage Weeks in Laas
First and foremost Laas in Vinschgau is known for its precious marble and the juicy apricots, which thrive very well in the orchards around the village. Besides that you can find another, less famous but no less tempting specialty that plays a leading parting in autumn: white cabbage.
As regards vitamins, mineral salts and dietary fiber, cabbage and closely related types of vegetables are very healthy and beneficial. In addition, white cabbage apparently has healing power, because it strengthens the immune system, aids the digestion and lowers the blood sugar and cholesterol level.

Of course the numerous dishes, which are prepared with white and pickled cabbage, are a culinary pleasure too. Of this you can convince yourself during the Cabbage Weeks taking place between 19 October and 11 November 2018 in Laas in Vinschgau. Then, in the local restaurants and inns everything is about the aforesaid vegetable.
To mark the beginning of the event there takes place the popular October Market, where you can taste not only tasty cabbage dishes, but also traditional autumn specialties such as fritters, roasted chestnuts and fresh apple juice.
A varied supporting program with guided hikes, particular thematic evenings and exhibitions accompany the culinary festival in Vinschgau to the end.
