Highland GamesDUE TO THE CURRENT EXCEPTIONAL SITUATION CONCERNING CORONAVIRUS, NO EVENTS WILL BE HELD AT THE PRESENT TIME!
Strong guys and powerful ladies, all dressed in colorful checkered skirts, some of them with frightening face paintings, trunks flying through the air and bagpipe music…
Don’t wonder if you visit the village St. Lorenzen in the holiday region Kronplatz between 19th and 20th July 2019. The exceptional guises you probably will meet there aren’t protagonists in a fantasy movie, but participants in the Highland Games.
This year the Highland Games St. Lorenzen take place for the 13th time and year after year, this event becomes more popular. Reasons for this increase of popularity may be the impressive competitions, the many musclemen and the good-looking women or even the attractive supporting programme.
The participants have to compete in various disciplines, including trunk and stone throw, piggy-back run, archery and tug-of-war. So, they have not only to be strong and buff, but also speedy, deft and fair.
The Highland Games takes place in all kinds of weather; the entrance for fans and spectators is free and there is offered a varied programme with animation and pony trekking for children, good music and hearty dishes.
