Lorenzi night at Cinema Knottn
Region: Meran and environs
The Cinema Knottn in Vöran offers a breath-taking view during the day. Even more enchanting is the panorama thanks to the numerous shooting stars at Lorenzi night.
The unique “Knottnkino” or Cinema Knottn by artist Franz Messner was built in Vöran, at 1,400 m of altitude. About 30 chairs made of chestnut wood are positioned on a ledge and invite to enjoy the breath-taking panorama over the valley Etschtal, Passeiertal and Ultental as well as over the Dolomites and Texel Group.
On Lorenzi Night, on 9th August 2019, countless shooting stars will fall from the sky. From Cinema Knottn, you can watch this spectacle particularly well, which is why there is a unique event for romantics and amateur astronomers on that night.
The evening programme begins at 8 pm with a beautiful sunset above Meran and Etschtal Valley. Afterwards, the amateur astronomers “Max Valier” will tell more about Lorenzi night and will answer the questions of all participants.
The highlight of the evening – watching the shooting stars – is announced by the musical sounds of Jolly Mood.
In case of bad weather, the event will not take place. Bring a torch or headlight as well as warm clothes and a blanket. Inscription is not necessary. The cableway Burgstall-Vöran will operate until 12.30 pm.
