Christmas market Klausen
The small but sweet Christmas fair in Klausen is not only an opportunity of shopping and strolling, but invites you also to travel through time: back to the Middle Ages!
Travelling entertainers and fire-eaters show their tricks, at the corner a night watch dressed in black tells thrilling stories and stall holders in medieval robes offer all sorts of products for sale. Lanterns, torches and candles light up the town centre and you can hear quiet medieval sounds in the alleys.
The Christmas market in Klausen has about 20 stands, so is not as big as other fairs in Eisacktal, but it is very pleasant and cosy nevertheless. Nice gift articles – handmade carpet slippers, glass globes, woodcarvings and more – are as well available as typical Christmas specialties and South Tyrolean quality products.
Supporting programme & opening times
In addition to the quiet atmosphere, the medieval Christmas fair in Klausen offers a varied supporting programme for young and old alike: with pony- and camel trekking, puppet theatre, handicraft classes and readings for children, a big medieval parade, musical and artistic performances and much more.
The Christmas market in Klausen is open at the weekends from 1 to 24 December 2017: on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
