Rural crafts in South Tyrol

For many centuries, crafts played a significant role on all South Tyrolean farms, until this tradition has increasingly fallen into oblivion during the last centuries. However, the South Tyrolean Farmer’s Association engages in bringing the “rural crafts” again into life creating a valuable and additional source of income. The hallmark “Red Rooster” guarantees quality and uniqueness of South Tyrolean quality products.

On South Tyrolean farms, the traditions of woodturning, woodcarving, weaving and carving are present still today. In fact, “Red Rooster” remains true to its philosophy and is still giving high importance to quality standards and strict criteria. For getting the quality label, for instance, 100 percent of the primary material must come from the proper farm or from another South Tyrolean agricultural company. As well, the artworks must be entirely handmade.

The brochure “Farm handcrafts – Precious unique pieces from South Tyrol” presents the life of several South Tyrolean farmers. All of them process their precious resources to unique objects of utility, decoration and accessories. The brochure can be downloaded on the website, or requested under the phone number +39 0471 999 325 or via e-mail at

On request, you can also experience real South Tyrolean rural crafts live. As well, the products are for sale at the respective farm shops.
