MTB tour Stelvio Bike Day

Short description

Ambitious mountain bikers cannot avoid riding the Stelvio Pass during a holiday in South Tyrol.

Description

Whether during the Stelvio Cycling Day or without competition: if you want to cycle the more than 52 hairpin bends on a mountain bike, you need to have plenty of power in your legs.

Starting point of the tour

Spondinig

Destination of the tour

Passo Stelvio

Route description

The starting point of the tour is Spondinig. Once you arrive in Prad am Stilfser Joch, the breathtaking but unique ascent to the Stilfser Joch begins on the famous start line at Gasthof Ladum. First you pass through the villages of Gomagoi, Außertrafoi and then Trafoi. Hoping you haven't expended too much energy up to this point, the actual ascent to the Joch now begins.
Here you will experience a unique view of the final destination. If your legs are still up to it, the last few metres are no steeper than 10%. Once you reach the pass, you are rewarded with a fantastic view back to the 52 hairpin bends you have conquered and to King Ortler.
