Welcome to Mountain Residence Merk

The apartments and suites of Mountain Residence Merk are located in Wolkenstein in Gröden. Our inviting house is surrounded by flowering meadows, green woods and the majestic peaks of the Dolomites. The Mountain Residence Merk is the perfect place for enjoying life in the mountains and taking a break from everyday life.

Apartments, suites & panoramic sauna

For our guests, we offer comfortable apartments and suites of various sizes (2-10 persons), which are equipped with any comfort. Both suites are furnished in a modern, alpine style and are designed with high-quality wooden details. The scent of the natural fir wood in and outside the chalet helps to feel completely relaxed. Our little house in the wood with panoramic sauna, relaxation room with chimney and vital bar is perfect for moments of well-being. Under the rooftop, you will find hay beds. The hay comes from the alpine meadows at Sellajoch mountain pass and has positive effects on your health and mood due to the alpine herbs.

Hiking & skiing trip to Gröden Valley

Mountain Residence Merk is a good starting point for hikes and bike tours. Many paths start directly in front of our hotel. Host Oswald is a certified bike guide and will appreciate to give you useful tips and individual proposals for the most beautiful tours. Our guest can also benefit from the summer and winter offers of “Val Gardena Active”, such as guided hikes, climbing lessons, day trips and much more. In winter, you can rich the perfectly prepared slopes within only a few minutes with our private shuttle or ski bus (bus stop only 50 m from our house). On request, Oswald will accompany you on wonderful ski tours in Sella mountain group.

We had a wonderful time!!! The owners were incredibly kind and full of advice. Kudos to Alessia, whose smile and wonderful hospitality made us feel right at home! The apartments (we stayed in the Luis suite) are spotless and very welcoming. Everything was perfect for a top-notch vacation!!! The spa is 5-star, open every day of the week and private for the four of us, furnished in Tyrolean style and with every amenity imaginable. We didn't use the beautiful barbecue area, but we promise we will next time... because we will definitely be back!!!!
Congratulations, this is hospitality at its finest.
The Merk is a 3-star hotel, but believe me, it offers the services of a 4-star, if not a 5-star, which is what I'm giving for this review!!!

The building looks nice from the outside and the apartment was clean and well equipped, but some furniture and floors show signs of age. Communication with the host was difficult — they didn’t show up at check-in despite a set appointment. Also, the apartment is right next to a busy road leading to Passo Gardena, which brings a lot of noise. Ours was on the ground floor, directly by the parking lot and sidewalk, which made it feel very exposed with little privacy — more like being in a fishbowl. This wasn’t mentioned in the listing.
The lady at the reception was very kind.

We booked through a well-known platform. The place is very quaint, the rooms are spacious, and the staff is kind and welcoming. They even gave us a more comfortable room than the one we booked, free of charge and without us asking. The location is quite far from town, requiring a car, but for us, who came to photograph the autumn at Passo Gaedena, it was definitely convenient. The price is quite high considering that breakfast isn't included and it's not in a central location.

Beautiful residence. It's on the Sella Pass road, just outside Selva. Modern, spotlessly clean, and equipped with every comfort. Six of us, plus our two dogs, stayed there for a week. The Pralong apartment consists of three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a comfortable and well-equipped kitchen, and a living room. The residence has beautiful common areas: a fully equipped barbecue area, a sauna, and a solarium. Parking is available on-site (which isn't a given in Selva). Mrs. Rungaldier was very hospitable, providing us with all the information we needed for our excursions and recommending bus routes to avoid driving (everyone receives a free ticket valid for the duration of their stay, allowing unlimited use of all the valley's buses. It's incredibly convenient; the public transport network is extensive and frequent, so you don't have to move your car and save significantly on parking, which is extremely expensive throughout the valley). She even provided us with fresh bread every day upon request, so we could set out on our excursions with a packed lunch ready. One morning we asked for breakfast (optional, extra). She prepared it for us outside, and we ate it outside at the tables provided, with a stunning setting worthy of a five-star hotel. Everything was delicious. My compliments for the hospitality and professionalism! I wholeheartedly recommend it!
In general, I found great hospitality in all the establishments in the valley! We felt welcomed and hosted! Thank you all!
