Welcome to Berghotel Jochgrimm in Aldein!

The traditional Berghotel Jochgrimm is located in a legendary area at 2000 m above sea level and is surrounded by a dreamlike mountain landscape. Our family runs the hotel already in the fifth generation. With much attention to detail and many new ideas, we have created a mountain hotel for relaxing holidays in the middle of a dreamlike natural landscape.

Regional cuisine & wellness for the senses

For our guests, we offer comfortable rooms, family rooms and suites of various sizes, which are furnished lovingly and with natural materials. In the morning, we spoil you with a rich breakfast buffet. At dinner, you can enjoy 4-course menus with typical South Tyrolean delicacies and fresh salads from our buffet. We are always pleased to prepare special dishes for allergy sufferers on request. For moments of relaxation, we offer a wellness area with Finnish sauna, steam bath with Alpine scents, infrared cabin, steam bath with salt peeling, heated whirlpool in the garden, sunbathing lawn, relaxation room and much more. A heated outdoor infinity pool (30 °C) with wonderful view to the mountains guarantees pure bathing fun. Massages, traditional hay baths and beauty treatments are offered as well. Our guests can also count on a wellness bag with bathrobes and towels during the entire stay. The small fitness room is ideal for physical activities in all weathers.

Ideal for active guests & relaxation seekers

In the environs of our Berghotel Jochgrimm, you can find a unique natural landscape all year round with many outdoor activities. Countless hiking paths start directly in front of our hotel. Once a week, we offer a guided tour. In winter, you will look forward to a small skiing area and wonderful winter hikes right next door. The cross-country ski centre of Lavazè is located only 3 km from our hotel, the skiing areas Obereggen, Pampeago and Alpe Cermis are located at 15 km of distance.

We received a warm welcome, and everything was shown and discussed with us. During our stay, everyone was also very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and beautifully presented. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and there was plenty of everything; if anything ran out, it was immediately replenished. The hotel is beautifully situated at an altitude of 2,000 meters between the Weisshorn and Schwarzhorn. However, if you want to experience something in the evening, you've come to the wrong place or will have to drive a few kilometers. Many tours can be started directly from the hotel, and if you arrive home early, you can enjoy a drink, a meal, or coffee and cake in the hotel bar "Wastl." The hotel is very nice; the dining room is very bright and offers a great view. Our room was absolutely fantastic, clean, and very well furnished. We had a small, spacious balcony and a small winter garden where we could read and play games as if we were on the balcony, which was great for us, as the temperatures had already dropped quite a bit. The wellness area left nothing to be desired, the indoor pool was very, very nice, and the sauna area had everything I needed for relaxation. Overall, my wife and I were very happy with our choice, and I think we will definitely return to the Hotel Jochgrimm.

Unfortunately, I was unlucky because they're currently resurfacing the road, and getting there by motorbike on a rocky, bumpy road is objectively complicated. Once the road is resurfaced, it will be perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Berghotel Jochgrimm! The surroundings are stunning: absolute tranquility, fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The hotel is perfectly located as a starting point for numerous hikes, especially circular tours. The trails are well signposted, and there are a wide selection for both beginners and experienced climbers. The rooms, although rather small and simple, are very clean, and everything you need is provided. We particularly liked the spacious wellness area and the varied sauna landscape, including a large pool, quiet reading corners, Kneipp baths, outdoor whirlpools, and a good range of massages. Only the whirlpools could be cleaned a little more regularly, otherwise everything is well-maintained. We were thoroughly spoiled with the culinary delights: varied, fresh, creative, and diverse – truly a delight for the palate! The hotel is dog-friendly. There is also a spacious bar and its own café/restaurant, which round out the stay. There are a few minor drawbacks, however: The sauna and spa area is unfortunately only open until 7:30 p.m. – a bit of a shame for anyone looking to relax later after a long hike. Furthermore, bath and sauna towels are only available in limited quantities, and some of the bathrobes and towels were a bit worn. In conclusion: A beautifully situated mountain hotel with great food and a wellness area, which we would happily recommend despite some minor drawbacks! We'd love to come back!

My review is only for the restaurant, where we've been three times over the years. It's almost a regular stop, as it's right in front of the parking lot where you leave your car and continue along the trails of the Oclini Pass, which I discovered in 2022. Following the main road is easy, with little incline, but beautiful views: ideal for those like me who no longer hike like they used to, and in 2022... let's forget about it. For outside guests, the restaurant appears simple in its layout and ambiance, with tables outside when the weather permits, or in the dedicated hall. The service, however, is impeccable, with "longtime" staff joined by seasonal workers only for the simplest tasks. The dishes are traditional, with excursions that here in Trentino and Alto Adige commonly include the Milanese steak and the ubiquitous carbonara, which we distance ourselves from. The portions are generous, so be careful when ordering; desserts, on the other hand, are slices for two or three people. A special mention goes to the wine list, not only for its variety, and sticking closely to the local area isn't a limitation, if this is the region; but also because you can choose wines from the list and have just a glass, or a quarter. Be warned: here in Trentino and Alto Adige, a glass of wine is cheap, but it's truly meager (0.1 l). In short, for around fifty euros for two, you can eat enough, with simple dishes done well—everyone knows how to mess around, and then they can give us big names—excellent service, in a quiet atmosphere, with tables close together so you can maybe even chat. Kudos to you.

We recently stayed for our summer vacation at this lovely hotel at 2,000 meters. The location is fantastic for those who want to hike in the mountains or explore the more popular nearby destinations. The food is excellent, including gluten- and lactose-free options. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The wellness area is well-equipped, spacious, and very relaxing. Attention to detail. The manager, Alex, is excellent, always attentive and helpful. Highly recommended, and we'll be back soon!

We stayed at this hotel for 9 days in August. Relaxation is the watchword. Here, in addition to the cool climate given the altitude, absolute peace reigns. Courteous, always available staff. Excellent spa, swimming pool, garden with sun loungers and umbrellas. Ideal for relaxing.
