Our family-run Naturhotel Waldheim*** in Altrei is an ideal place for a pleasant holiday marked by tranquillity, nature and relaxation. It is characterized by its sunny and very peaceful location in Altrei, a peaceful hamlet south of Bozen, and it is surrounded by the wonderful landscape of the nature park Trudner Horn.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel from September 21–26, 2026. From the very first moment, I felt very well taken care of and warmly welcomed. That feeling didn’t change until the day I left. All the staff were polite and attentive. I’d especially like to highlight the food, though. It far exceeded all expectations. The meals (multi-course menu) were simply DELICIOUS!!! Second helpings were available at any time. Breakfast also left nothing to be desired. It’s a shame, really, that you can’t rate your satisfaction higher than 100%—and that’s exactly how I felt. Thank you very much for the friendliness of everyone at your hotel. The staff was always friendly, cheerful, and attentive. The food was always great. And the local products served at breakfast were one-of-a-kind. The beautiful pool and spa area are an absolute dream for relaxation. We enjoyed our stay very, very much and would come back anytime.

The Naturhotel Waldheim is located in a very quiet setting with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. From here, you can set out on beautiful hikes directly into the Trudener Horn National Park. Our room was one of the ones that hadn’t been recently renovated yet, but it was still perfectly fine. The small spa area with the swimming pool isn’t very large, but it’s beautifully designed and perfectly maintained. It was never too crowded there either. The food was fantastic: a very generous breakfast (including homemade breads and cakes, mountain cheese—all of the highest quality) and a multi-course dinner menu that we always found delicious. The Zaniol family and their staff are all very friendly and accommodating and go out of their way to fulfill every request. The hotel’s bike rental service also worked perfectly (great bike!).

We’re a young couple, and we stayed here with our dog—we had a really great time! Excellent value for the money and good-quality food. The staff is super helpful, friendly, and very professional. The property is clean, tidy, and well-maintained. The pool, sauna, and green spaces were also very nice—we really appreciated them, especially for our dog. The buffets were excellent—both the salad bar and the breakfast spread—with plenty of choices. Overall, it was a wonderful experience; we felt right at home and would love to come back!
