The farm St. Josefhof in Kaltern on the Wine Road is just a 10-minute walk from Lake Kaltern, surrounded by green nature. For a relaxing holiday on the farm, we have 3 cosy and comfortable apartments, all of which have a fully equipped kitchen, safe, satellite TV and a balcony with lake view. We also offer our guests a bread roll service, farm produce and homemade cakes or apple strudel once a week. 

Relaxation and fun in the garden

Our well-tended garden invites you to take a relaxing break with its whirlpool, warm shower, beautiful sunbathing lawn and shady vine arbour. The children's playground, volleyball net, table tennis and table football provide fun and variety at the farm St. Josefhof. We are also happy to share our knowledge of herbs and offer guided herb tours.

Varied activities

Active holidaymakers can set off directly from the farm St. Josefhof on hikes and bike tours between vineyards and orchards, between forests and the mountain massif Mendelkamm. Practical: We offer our guests bikes for rent and charging facilities for e-bikes. Lake Kaltern is just a stone's throw away and offers swimming fun and water sports. And in the wine village of Kaltern there is the South Tyrolean Wine Museum as well as lovely cafés, restaurants and events

This is our ninth time spending our vacation at St. Josef Hof – and every time it feels a bit like coming home. It all started in 2007 with our little daughters, who are now grown up. Today, we're here with our sons-in-law and even our grandson. It's wonderful that St. Josef Hof has been a part of our lives for so many years and has become such a cherished part of our family history. The warm hospitality, the thoughtful little touches from our hosts, the breathtaking scenery, and the relaxed South Tyrolean atmosphere make every stay special. Thank you for the many wonderful memories and the attentive care. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

A truly warm and welcoming host family, who place great value on thoughtful details and a welcoming atmosphere. A spotlessly clean, lovingly decorated, and cozy apartment, and a beautifully landscaped, fragrant garden. A true oasis of well-being! We were welcomed with fresh flowers, an excellent apple strudel, and an equally superb, homemade red wine. Farm-fresh products such as apple juice, wine, jams, and herb salts are also delicious. From the very first minute, we felt completely at ease. Here, genuine hospitality is truly lived. The host family is always ready to listen and has plenty of helpful tips. We would love to return.

A very beautiful and clean vacation apartment where you immediately feel at home. We stayed over New Year's Eve and it was PERFECT!!! The Bertagnoll family was exceptionally kind, warm, and very accommodating. I felt right at home. The homemade apple juice is especially recommended—a real highlight :-) We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to our next stay. Thank you & best regards

We've just returned from our short New Year's break in South Tyrol. We spent five days at the St. Josefhof in Kaltern with the Bertagnoll family. We felt very comfortable there. Relaxation began the moment we drove along the driveway, lined with leander and olive trees. Bernadette Bertagnoll and her family gave us a warm welcome and were excellent hosts. Bernadette's apple strudel with pine nuts was divine. The apartment was very spacious for the two of us and our dog Maila, absolutely spotless, and equipped with everything we needed. Even the TV allowed us to watch Prime and Netflix with our own account. The three apartments are beautifully situated above Lake Kaltern, and the balcony offers a lovely place to sit outside. Despite all three apartments being fully occupied, the house was very quiet. Booking and communication with the Bertagnoll family beforehand was incredibly easy. They responded to emails very quickly. We highly recommend this vacation rental.

We had a wonderful stay with a view of Lake Kaltern! The location is good – quiet and relaxing. Excursions and walks can be started directly from the house. The owners are warm and helpful. We immediately felt welcome. The garden is well-kept, with many cozy corners to relax and enjoy nature. We would definitely like to come back – highly recommended for anyone seeking relaxation and beautiful surroundings!

We had a wonderful time at the Sankt Josefhof. The farm is about a 20-minute walk from the lake and offers a magnificent view of the valley and the lake. The garden with its vines, the whirlpool, and the small playground were a favorite not only for us but also for our little daughter. The Bertagnoll family were also super friendly hosts. 100% recommendation

The holiday apartment is super bright, spacious, and lovingly furnished. The view from the balcony is beautiful (directly overlooking the lake with the mountains in the background). The garden is a perfect place to relax. We felt very comfortable from the very first moment. The Bertagnoll family is extremely friendly and always attentive to their guests. We are already looking forward to seeing you again.
